Importing engage files

I am trying to import some Engage files from an old project into a new project using Storyline 1. I downloaded the trial version of Studio 13 because I do not own Engage but I need to work on the slides to complete the project and instead of recreating the slides I would just import the old ones and adjust them accordingly. I am not sure why Storyline will not acknowledge that I have Engage. An error message comes up and it will not import the slides. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Storyline 1 will not import content unless you have Studio 09installed. Storyline 1 unfortunately cannot import content from Studio 13 (If you try and open the 09 engage in studio 13 it will be converted to an engage 13 project).
You can insert the engage files as web objects.
Hi Tara,
It looks like Nancy and Phil have you going in the right direction. I did want to point out you can download Engage '09 here. If you're using Studio '13 and Storyline 1, you can publish Studio '13 content for web, then embed it in Storyline as a web object. For example, here's how you'd insert an Engage '13 interaction in Storyline 1.
If you're using a different set up and still running into this error, can you tell us more about what version/update of each you're using and what the error message says?
Thank you all so much! I think I jumped the gun and just opened the Engage file and it automatically converted over like you said Phil and then I just ended up converting my SL1 project to SL2 and it worked. If I had waited a little while Ashley, I think I could have used your advice. Thank you all for your comments and help.
Hi Tara,
I'm glad you were able to get this working - so thanks for sharing the update here.
I downloaded Articulate Studio '09 Pro with the link in Ashley's email. My subscription has expired. So I tried to download it again. But I keep getting the message requiring me to activate Studio. What are my options here?
Best, Julie
Hi Julie,
Were you using a trial version of Studio 09? If you haven't purchased Studio '09, the trial is only good for 30 days - and if you've purchased but you continue to receive a notification that you need to activate your software, we'll want to have you connect with our Support team.
I was using the trial version. Is '09 for sale?
Hi Julie,
I don't believe that we're still selling Studio '09, but you can connect with our Sales team to confirm.
