Importing Powerpoint

Aug 22, 2013

When importing a powerpoint, my original formatting is changing when in storyline - how should I upload to avoid this problem? Font color, bullets, slide headings are recognized as pictures instead of plain text, and page format is changing.

Hi Holly,

Welcome to Heroes! Importing a PowerPoint into Storyline isn't an exact one-to-one conversion. Take a look at these threads for more information:

- Things to Consider When Importing a PowerPoint

- PowerPoint Text Doesn't Look the Same

Let me know if you have any additional questions. If you wish, you can submit a Support Case, and we'll be glad to take a closer look.

Thanks Adrian! One thing I don't understand is that characters are added in my import. I understand that if the bullets  you are importing aren't compatible with storyline then they will appear differently; however, on some of my slides, additional bullets have been added. Any thoughts as to why that would happen?

Hi Renetta,

What version of Powerpoint and Storyline are you using? Were the characters a part of the Articulate suite of Characters? You mentioned thinking the file was corrupt - did you follow these best practices when working with Storyline files (and the other files you're importing)?

If you want to share a copy of the Powerpoint file I'm happy to take a look and test it out as well!
