Importing Presenter Files into Storyline

Nov 09, 2012

Hi Everyone!

Our training department is moving to a new process and new applications. The plan is to have one group using PPT/Presenter to build learning objects and another group using Storyline to publish those learning objects. Soooo...I'm trying to figure out how to import Presenter files into Storyline and keep the audio and animation synched. When I try to import a PPT deck with audio and animations synched by Presenter, all that I get in Storyline is static slides and no audio.

Any insights will be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Maria. Welcome to E-Learning Heroes!

You can import PowerPoint and Presenter into Storyline, but there are a few things you should keep in mind when doing so. This article provides a lot of information about what you should expect upon importing your presentations into Storyline.

I'm not sure if you've seen this already, but this tutorial will walk you through importing PowerPoint presentations into Storyline. Make sure you take a look at section 2, which talks about importing Presenter packages with audio.

"Note:  If you're importing a PowerPoint file that includes Articulate Presenter resources (such as audio), be sure that the PPTA file is located in the same folder as the PowerPoint file.  Otherwise, Storyline will be able to import only the PowerPoint slides but not the corresponding Articulate Presenter resources. (Articulate Presenter does not need to be installed to import PowerPoint / Presenter content.)"
