I have published my project in Tin Can API. I have gone through the module as a learner but for some reason once I have completed the module it won't sign it off as completed. It stays stuck in progress.
It was tracking by slide, there is one slide that's not registering properly, the learners have to go back and revisit that specific slide for it it sign off as complete.
I am now having another issue, I have created several FreeFrom slides with a pick many options the user has to input the data then click submit but now it will not play the slide even in the preview window. The data has decimals would this effect the interaction?
So for your tracking issue, is this slide in a lightbox or someway that the user isn't forced to see it? You could always adjust the total number of slides they need to view by one to accommodate that.
In regards to your other issue, this did not look like the same file your describing as none of the slides include a freeform pick many question or a submit button? I did notice that on previewing it, I wasn't able to get to the 3 slide - so I did an import into a new project and then it previewed as expected.
thanks for sending the updated file - I think you'll need to use numeric entries instead of text entries. I set up a very simple pick many with two numeric entries where you need to enter a decimal number - and it works as expected. You can see my attached version here.
Yes, we always recommend saving to your C drive, and I'd implement a method to back up your files as well since Storyline doesn't save automatically.
I have used a mixture of both and it doesn't seem to work. I have even recreated the slides and it doesn't work. I basically have two problems I have created a slide where the image takes you to the next slide which refuses to work and now the decimals don't work when you press submit it doesn't do anything.
I have done everything you have suggested and nothing is working :(
Did you take a look at my file for the decimal points? I only noticed text entry options in yours not numeric entries...but I may have missed it, can you point me to a particular slide?
Yes I did and that's what I have been doing on the rest of the projects. But I think it doesn't like it when I rename the variables in the Variable Manager wherever I have renamed the veriable with a decimal point the slides won't work.
The other problem is the map I showed it works fine for you but doesn't for me and I think it is due to a variable that has a decimal point in another slide.
So now I am rebuilding both projects from scratch without rename the variables, hopefully it will work.
Right one of the projects is now working fine after rebuilding it, but the map will not work once it is published and on the LMS. I am getting really frustrateed right now because nothing seems to work and when you test it, it works fine :(
The learners cannot click on the map, but I tested the html file and it launched fine in a Google Chrome and Firefox browser. I am assuming there is a problem with the LMS.
If it's not working in your LMS, but it is working when testing on the web, you may want to also try it out at SCORM Cloud which is an industry standard testing method for Scorm content.
HiSalwa, I was able to play the Tin Can file you sent me without issues in GoogleChrome, however I received the following error message when I ran the filethrough SCORM Cloud (a SCORM testing tool) which could be causing the issue youare experiencing:
'Thegiven tincan.xml was incompatible with latest version of the Tin Can APIspecification. Error was: Activity ID '6qZu0Mh2bgY_course_id' is not anabsolute URI'
That error message is mentioned in this support article, and this is a parser warning related to the version of the Tin Can API spec being used. It won't affect your content and can be safely ignored.
So what do I do now, it was tested on SCORM Cloud and came up with the same error message. The Litmos (LMS) support team have advised me to contact Articulate support because there is nothing they can do from their end.
You can share the file here with us so that we can test it, or you can connect with our Support engineers, or I can send you directions on how to share with me privately - totally your call.
Everything is finally working now, after much debate there was something wrong with the LMS and not articulate. Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you so much for your help you have been very patient and enduring.

Hi Salwa,
What tracking method are you using, by visiting a certain number of slides or a results slide?
Also, I'd recommend reviewing this article on troubleshooting common LMS reporting and tracking issues specifically testing the behavior at SCORM Cloud as well to see if it's how your LMS is reading completion.

I have attached the file, I don't know why it is not working none of my projects seem to working this a different one.

If the odd behavior continues, you'll also want to confirm you're working with local project files.
The slide is a normal slide not a lightbox slide, I will do as you suggested and see if that works.
Sorry that was my fault please see attached the additional slides. I was viewing the project on the shared drive and LMS.
So do you suggest I export it to a new project and save everything on my C drive and make a backup copy on the shared drive?

Hi Salwa,
Thanks for the update on the variable issue - but in regards to your map, what is not working on that version now that it's loaded to your LMS?

Okay thank you I will try that.
