Incomplete status in Blackboard

May 08, 2013

After publishing a course from Articulate Storyline and uploading to Blackboard, my course plays in Blackboard and records scores, but the status keeps returning as Incomplete. Has anyone else experienced this problem and identified a workaround? (We are in Blackboard 9 right now and will be moving to 9.1 shortly.)

Welcome to E-Learning Heroes, Maggie!

Have you tested your course in SCORM Cloud? This would help us determine if the issue is Articulate related or if it's on your Blackboard's side.

If you're using AICC content please take a look at the article below for testing information:

Articulate Support - Testing AICC content at SCORM Cloud

If it appears in SCORM Cloud as well, we'd be happy to take a closer look at what might be going on.

If you can't replicate the issue in SCORM Cloud, it's probably an issue that you'd want to take to your LMS team.

The articles here and here may also help clear up common LMS issues.

Let us know how it turns out.

Thanks and welcome again, Maggie!

It's probably way too late to help you, Maggie, but I saw this while researching another issue and thought I'd add my two cents for future users.

I'm working in Blackboard 9.1, and I have several quizzes that consistently produce incompletes.  After some troubleshooting we noticed quizzes with failing grades weren't being recorded, but quizzes with passing grades worked just fine.  We went into the Quiz Results options and told Storyline that anything above 0% was a passing grade.  We also changed the options so the pass/fail information doesn't show; instead we only show the percentage grade.  That solved our issue; now all attempts are being recorded in the Grade Center.
