Incorporating SL3 files into VIRGIL ? Say what?

Aug 08, 2019

Ok, first off, I have no idea what VIRGIL is (guess do a Goggle search and find out)  I'm exporting files to the Navy and they are asking how could, or is it possible to incorporate SL3 into VIRGIL.  I have course builds that they would like to use on their Android tablets, well, it could be Windows tablets for all I know.

I might was well get the ball rolling because the Navy wants to get something moving on this.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Michael,

I did a quick search and I'm still just as unsure as before what VIRGIL is!

Did they mention if it was something to do with where they host and/or track usage of their content? It's possible that VIRGIL is their Learning Management System (LMS) and therefore you'd want to find out if it supports SCORM, Tin Can API or AICC. There are a few different options when publishing to an LMS (this tutorial should help shed some light on it) and you could ask your Navy contact to clarify which options they want to use at publish.

If they'll also be accessing on Android tablets (or Windows!), VIRGIL could be an app to access the content. Determining if you can upload Storyline 3 content there will take a bit more details on how the content is uploaded and accessed - so again a few more questions for you to push back on them with!

Bottom line...I've not heard of VIRGIL, and I've worked with Articulate tools for over 6 years, so I think you're safe to ask for more info from the folks at the Navy! ⭐️
