I have a video on a Storyline slide with info icons that pop up for the user to click on. Once the user clicks the icon, a message should appear, and then when the user closes the message, the icon should fade away. I have 5 icons in my first video and one of them will not disappear. I'm baffled as to why--it appears to be set up exactly the same as the other 4. Each is set to display for 2 seconds. The message box doesn't cover the icon or anything like that. Any thoughts?
I can't show my client's work, so I mocked up a video slide using the existing icons. When I preview/publish it, the 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th (of 6 total) icons do not disappear.
Thanks for mocking up an example. When I looked at this, 2, 5 and 6 didn't disappear after I clicked on them. All the others did. They all disappeared as normal when I didn't click on any of them. What's also odd is looking at your timeline - 2 and 6 don't seem to be labelled the same as the others. I also looked at the layers for 2, 5 and 6 - as I noticed that they were disappearing when the layers opened but the others weren't...so I saw that those icons were hidden on the layers - and I changed that setting and then they all seemed to disappear again as you'd like. I also removed a number of unused triggers.
Can you check out the version I attached? I'm curious - were you duplicating the objects?
It's also worth checking that you're working on local project files as described here.

It sounds like we'd need to see this slide and any triggers associated with the icons. Can you share your .story file here with us?
