I'm not sure I'm clear on what you're describing - after you've chosen to insert the character, the window with the options of how/who to insert still remains? Can you confirm that you're working on local project files? Does this happen in all your projects or just a specific one? You may want to look at conducting the repair of Storyline to resolve any odd behavior.

The window of character insertion still remain and there's no way to
close it ("close" icon or "top right cross" ot "alt f4")
It's happening with every project, with picture or photo character.
I'm working on local project file (on my desktop).
I've uninstall then re-install the character package (with bundle
character.exe) without any change
others functions work well

This is happening to me as well! The system has no problem opening the character window, and will even insert the character on the slide, but the character window will not close to let me return to the course.
3. Restart your computer 4. Turn off your anti-virus program 5. Close all running programs 6. Right-click the installation file, and select Run as administrator 7. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation process 8. Reboot your computer

This is usually an indication that the installation files have been damaged. Let us perform a repair installation to resolve the issue. Here's how:
1. Uninstall Storyline using Windows' Add/Remove programs
2. Download a new installer and save on your desktop:
http://download.articulate.com/storyline/2/storyline-2.exe
3. Restart your computer
4. Turn off your anti-virus program
5. Close all running programs
6. Right-click the installation file, and select Run as administrator
7. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation process
8. Reboot your computer
