Insert a quiz into a Slide Timeline and then resume?

Is it possible to insert a Quiz question into a Slide's timeline (the slide will pause and wait) and then resume the slide after the students complete the quiz?

Hi Steve,

You may want to look at setting this up using a slide that jumps to a particular quiz slide based on the timeline of an offstage element on your original slide. Then you could set the quiz question to return to the original slide once the user has answered. You'll want to ensure you've set the slide's timeline to "resume saved state." You could also make it look like one slide, but really split it into three different sections that would automatically jump to the quiz and then again to the last slide with the final information.

Thanks Ashley.  That sounds a little complicated - I am a newbie.

I do have another question though, it's about video editing.

When I trim the length of a video and then save it to a slide does the whole video file get inserted into the slide or just the trimmed portion?

I ask because I have one video file of which various segments are used in different slides and I am conscious about not bloating slides with too many large video files.

Any insight would be helpful.

Hi Steve. If you trim a video Storyline will only include the trimmed portion in the published output.

For your earlier question about a quiz in the middle of a slide. There are several ways you can handle that depending on what kind of content you want to pause (text, audio/video, etc)  Here is on example with text content that might get you started.

I've set the slide to "resume saved state" as Ashley mentioned. You can see that by looking at the properties of the content slide.

As Ashley also mentioned another way to do this would be to use a series of slides and simply duplicate the content slide and place it after the quiz slide to make it seem like they are returning to the same slide after the quiz. The 2nd content slide would then contain the rest of the content that would pick up where the 1st content slide left off.
