I am wondering how to insert/embed a PDF file into Storyline. I would like to HTML5 output to "call" a pdf that I have on a webserver for example document1.pdf and pull it into Storyline in a Lightbox.
Yes... that is exactly what I was thinking and trying to do. I have the same test file, button linking to a Light-box, web-object embedded in the lightbox slide... only thing is.. that my web-object doesn't show as your does when I open it in a browser.
My pdf file is on a webserver and I am testing it from my local pc... do you think that has something to do with it?
Would you mind sending me the storyline file you used to create the testfile you made?
Since you are testing locally, it's quite possible that the webobject is blocked by your browser's security settings. Try uploading to some server (or alternative like DropBox or GoogleDrive) and test again. See attached my testfile, there is no 'hiden magic' there.
And thanks again. I had it done right and now I tested it on the dev server.. it works. Only thing is that the tools available once the pdf is open are limited... for example, I don't see the "hand" tool for dragging/moving.
Thanks again... found a work around. I created a HTML output of the PDF using a software called "Flexpaper" which outputs to HTML5 etc... then linked that file as a Webobject. Thank you for your time.

Hi Marco, welcome to the community. You could add a webobject to the lightboxed slide and link this web object to your pdf.
Sorry, I forgot to include this link to this quick test file that works fine on my iPad.

Any ideas?

I think you can only get those tools when you run in browser+ Flash (as shown below) but not in HTML5.
