When I'm trying to add new states for an icon the Insert pictures as states button is showing as un-clickable. I read that it only activates when an image is selected, but when I'm clicking on it the icon I'm working with is selected. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening or what I can do?
I should also mention I'm very new to Articulate and using the trial version at the moment, so may not have access to all the features.
Hey Danika! It could be that the icon is actually a group of objects, and you can't apply a single state to a group of items. Here's a quick Peek of what I mean. I hope that helps!
Hi Elizabeth, thank you so much for getting back to me about this, the video helped, as I hadn't been aware of having to ungroup the parts of the icon. The insert picture as states button is still unavailable, though maybe I'm misunderstanding how to use it? For example if I'm editing the states of an existing icon I can't make it change into a different icon within the editing states section.

Danika,
Don't worry about the trial version; it is the real version. The only difference is that it won't start when the trial expires.
Hi Danika,
You would use that button for pictures added to your project that you would then create states for.
I've outlined the differences and how to accomplish what you are working on with icons in this Peek 360 video for you to clarify.
