Ihave a number of videosinmySL1 fileand I am usinginserta video fromwebsite(embedcode). Those whohavebeeninthe formatQuickTimestartas normal, but I have a problem with the formatMP4.The videoseems to start then Ihear the soundbut I don't see anything.Whatcould be the problem?
Here's a quick test. Place one of the MP4s directly on your computer and see if it will play.
I'm wondering if this isn't a software/codec issue. Since you're simply pulling the video in as a web object, Storyline isn't doing any conversion. As a result, your computer needs to have the appropriate codecs to play that particular video. It's possible your machine has the abilty to play the quicktime file, but not the particular .mp4. For example, the .mp4 may have been compressed using, say, XviD (versus h.264) and your computer simply doesn't have the software to play it.
If it does play just fine on your machine, then could you send along the .mp4 so we could problem solve?
The video is played viaan embed code (using Brightcove) but with some help from my IT department the problem has been solved. I think it was a Flash Player issue and they also changed something in the embed code.

Hi Mike,
I've placed one of the MP4s directly on my computer and it does play just fine on my machine. So what could then be the problem?
Unfortunately I can't send along the video then I don't have the permission to show it externally.
Thanks!
Hi Ulrika,
Is it a naked MP4 file just sitting out on the web, or are you using a service (say YouTube, Vimeo, JWPlayer, etc.) to play via an embed code?
Mike
Hi Mike,
The video is played viaan embed code (using Brightcove) but with some help from my IT department the problem has been solved. I think it was a Flash Player issue and they also changed something in the embed code.
Thanks anyway for your help!
Ulrika
