Inserted objects only show 1/4 of object

Running Windows 8 on a Surface Pro.  Downloaded Storyline, installed Storyline, had issues, uninstalled storyline, deleted .exe file, redownloaded Storyline, and reinstalled.  Issue not fixed.

When I attempt to insert a character, the characters appear distorted (head and bodies not aligned), when inserted, only the top right quarter appears on the slide.  (head and body still not aligned)

Whether I am recording the screen, inserting a shape, text box, character, etc only 1/4 of the image appears.
