Hi Wendy, the first slide I am happy with however I would like the second slide to be inserted as a layer into the first slide. Hope that makes more sense now you can see it
I created a new layer on the first slide (called new layer) and then copied the objects from the second slide onto the first slide...I hope that's what you mean.
I haven't done any coding as to when they layer displays - you'll need to add that trigger where you want it.

Hi Di
you could create a T/F variable called firstVisit default to False.
Create a trigger Adjust variable 'firstVisit' to True when timeline ends on the slide.
Create another trigger 'show layer xx' when timeline starts on slide on condition that firstVisit=true
Hope I have understood what you mean...if not, upload your story file - easier for someone to help you if they can see your setup.

Wendy, that works perfectly. Trigger added. Thank you very much.
Glad you're all sorted Di - good luck with your project!
