I'm seeing the same thing, Bruce. However, I tried entering a few symbols in a text box on the slide and then copied and pasted the text box contents into the Notes panel and that worked...the symbols appeared fine in the Notes area.

just insert a text box on your slide with the content then copy/paste into the notes area. We do this for our copyright info - works a treat
Thanks. That's what I've done, but find it hard to believe that the Notes area is not a "fully functional" text area.
Seems this, and the ability to have "fully functional" Glossary would be no-brainers for a functionality/ease-of-use upgrade at some point.
