Inserting image into a marker

Am I forgetting how to do this, or does this functionality no longer exist?

I know it did once, because I've done it.  However, I can't seem to recreate the effect.

Any thoughts?

(I want to replace the image of the checklist in the marker, but when I try to insert I only get the image on the slide)
