I am trying to figure out how to insert a slide from a previous presentation into a presentation I am working on currently. Does anyone know how to do that - I'm striking out! :(

New Slide -> Import from Articulate
Note that when you choose the previous project, the default is all slides.

Just open both presentations and use copy and paste keyboard shortcut options. Both projects need to be open for this to work.
Experience shows that copy and paste doesn't always transfer everything.
