I want to add a new slide in my course. The slide is supposed to be the first slide and course should start from it without disturbing any other triggers in rest of the slides..
here is one way of doing it - you'll just need to check the triggers on the inserted slide to make sure they are doing what you want esp if you have custom nav.
I'm not aware of how to do that natively with SL but you could try to use Javascript. I'll defer to the JS gurus in the forum to help you with that. You may want to create a new post with that question so that other people can try and help you.

I hope it does not affect the other triggers as I have a lot of triggers in the story..

Hard to say without seeing your setup Nitin. Why don't you make a backup file and test it out.

Ome more thing - How can I give weightage to my slides for tracking.
For example if there are 10 slides in the course, I want to get scores as:
10% if only first slide is seen
40% if four slides have been seen
And 100% after completition of all 10 slides.
