Installation problems?

Hi there,

we use Articulate Storyline since 2013. We'd like to upgrade it now to Storyline 3, but we're facing some issues with the installation...

Launching the storyline-3.exe we see the window below; as you can see, the button "Install Now" is not selectable. Anyone could help us?

I guess it's a stupid thing, but we don't know how to proceed :(

Hi Al,

Have you checked that you're installing it as an administrator? 

You'll also want to make sure you've followed these steps:

  1. Download the Storyline 3 installation file and save it to your computer.
  2. Right-click the installation file and select Run as administrator.
  3. When the installer launches, select your preferred language in the upper right corner.
  4. Review the end-user license agreement and mark the agreement box.
  5. Click Install Now.
  6. When the installation is complete, click Finish, then launch Storyline from the icon on your desktop.
  7. If you're using the 30-day free trial, click Continue your free trial. If you've purchased a license, click Activate with your serial number and follow these steps to activate

Sorry we missed you- our team was offline for a couple days for Thanksgiving.  It does look like Robert sent you some more information via email, and I've copied it below for you:

I understand that you're unable to install Storyline 3. 

If you have not done so, please restart your machine. There are times that our computer is in a strange state if kept running for a long time. Restarting the computer may fix the issue. 

Please confirm if Storyline 3 is not installed on your computer. Go to your control panel and programs and features and check the list if Storyline 3 is not listed. Please see the sample screenshot here:

Please make sure that you're computer meets the minimum system requirements of Storyline 3 here:
