Interactive Drag and Drop exercises don´t work as HTML5 output

Mar 19, 2014

I have a problem concerning the HTML5 output. I´ve build a course with an interactive Drag and Drop exercise, and it works perfectly when I start the story.html. But when I start the story.html5, only half of the Drag items are visible and they are not in place. I´ve placed seven Drag items one above the other, but it now only shows three, and they are scattered everywhere on the screen. Another problem is: When I click on the top Drag item to move it, it picks the second item underneath and so on ...

Can you please help me or show me a way on how to deal with this problem. The thing is, that I have a customer who uses HTML5 and I told him, that there would be no problems in building the course in HTML5.
So I'm pretty much in a dilemma.

Thanks a lot for your support.

Hi Bjorn and welcome to Heroes!

I'm sorry to hear about the odd behavior with your drag and drop. Where are you testing the HTML5 output - within your iPad in Mobile Safari or Google Chrome on your desktop?  Also, what type of drag and drop have you set up (a freeform, matching)? If you'd like to share your .story file or a link to the HTML5 output with us we're happy to take a look.

Hi Ashley

thank you very much for your quick reply. We´ve tested the output on several browsers (Chrome, Firefox and IE). The problem showed up in each of the browsers. I changed some settings yesterday and told the course, not to shuffle the possible drag items. Now it works

But as soon as I make "shuffle answers", sadly the whole problem comes up again :-(

One more thing, I found out with another course is, that also gloweffects as a "dragover" don´t work with HTML5.

Is this problem already known?

How can I share my Output Folder with you, so you can have a look at it?

Thanks for your support and have a nice weekend :-)

Hi Bjorn,

You could share the folder here - or a link to the published output where it's hosted (web server, LMS, etc.) You could also post the .story file and then we could publish it again ourselves.

In regards to the glow effect - is it a part of your hover state? Again, it may be easier if I was able to see it.   If you're unable to share your files here in the forums please let me know and I can send you directions on how to share with me privately.
