Interactive Pop-up inside a Scrolling Panel?

Nov 06, 2014

I am making an interaction that simulates a piece of software.

The software is longer than it is wide, so I have placed a screenshot in a scrolling panel on my slide.

One of the choices I want to simulate is changing a date. The software has a pop-up calendar with selectable dates. I have managed to simulate this by creating a new layer with a picture of the calendar and replicas of each number on top. The "Done" button at the bottom of the calendar triggers a text variable to reset the date in the date field depending on which number is selected. See the attached picture to see what I mean.

My problem is that if the user has moved the scroll position, the calendar does not appear exactly below the calendar icon and date field. The layer is stationary, and the scrolling panel is not.

I would like to have the calendar right in the scrolling panel, but I can't easily hide it. I tried grouping it, and also tried putting the buttons onto to the "Normal" state of the picture, but then the triggers stop working. I realize this is extremely complicated, and a bit overly picky, but if anyone can think of a way to accomplish this, I would love to hear it!

Thanks in advance!

No, I decided to live with it. I don't think it is possible, other than to hide each component and then change their states when the user clicks the calendar button. Unfortunately, since there are about 30 componenets to the calendar, this is  a lot of coding with an increased risk of it not appearing all at once when accessing a course through an internet connection.

It would be nice to be able to change the states of groups. That said, it is a very specific problem, I know!
