Interactive Video
Jun 21, 2018
Hi People,
I have created an interactive video in SL3 using several cue point to trigger layers at each cue point. Trouble is the actions are being completely random when viewed in preview or as a published product.
Sometimes the pause playing media works, and other times it doesn't. Some actions occur when they are supposed to and others occur too early or not at all.
Each cue point performs the same sequence of actions:
- Pause the video when the timeline reaches the cue point
- Show the relevant layer which contains 2 choice buttons
- When each choice button is clicked, it shows a response layer
- The response triggers begin playing again and hide the response layer
All development is on a local drive so there should be no lag effects.
Are there some cache files I could delete in the event that they might be getting SL3 confused?
TIA
Andrew

Hey Andrew!
It sounds like Storyline is acting up for you--sorry for the trouble! Let's get this sorted out.
First, try doing a clean installation of Storyline 3. If that doesn't help, send us a copy of the unpublished file by clicking this link.
Keep me posted on what happens!
Hi Alyssa,
Reinstalled Storyline 3 as instructed and still the project is not playing as expected. Not sure about sending you the project as it contains some of our procedures.
Regards
Andrew
I completely understand, Andrew. Our team keeps every file we receive confidential, and we are happy to sign a NDA, if you'd like.
Otherwise, can you put together a quick sample file (with no proprietary information) that displays a similar issue?
Hi Alyssa,
I am going to send the file to you on the proviso it is deleted once we've finished discussing it. I warn that it is over 600Mb because of the size of the source video.
Hi Alyssa,
The link to sending a file took me to a Support webpage. I anticipated an upload site. Am I missing something?
Hi Andrew! Sorry for the confusion.
When you open our support case form here, this is the screen you'll see. You'll want to click, "No, thanks. I'd like to submit a case."
Then you'll see a place where you can add an attachment and send your file to our team.
