Internal Slide Number
Nov 21, 2013
Dear heroes,
is there a method that allows me to get the slidenumber that is assigned by SL to a slide.
It would make debugging easier. We use slides that have a similar look and feel and if the users detects an error or want to ask a question, we often have to figure out which slide he/she is on. If we had access to the internal variable it would be much easier. A workaround would be to have a variable that is set each time we create a slide... a bit cumbersome...

If your course uses the Menu functionality, then you could use Storyline's autonumbering feature. Learners could then tell you they had an issue/question/comment with "slide 5.3".
As for internal numbering or variables accessible to us, I don't think so.
Hi Bob,
thanks for the Reply.
It would be a good solution, yet we do not use the menu option (and can not activate it because of company policy)
Cheers

There definitely needs to be a feature where this is accessible as a variable. I'm sure it's been requested, but more would not hurt. It can't be hard to add.
Hi Geert! You could check out this thread to see if this could assist you, but requires some coding
