Internet Explorer Woes

Jun 13, 2017

Hi guys, I'm looking for some guidance.  I do realize that Internet Explorer is not a supported browser for html5.story files.  I also know that it doesn't play nice with Internet Explorer in any sense. We recently had a situation where our LMS stopped displaying course content correctly in Internet Explorer (an example is that the "Next button will not advance to the next slide on some slides"). However if you open the course content in Google Chrome or Firefox, the buttons work correctly.  At first I thought that is may be an html.story issue Internet Explorer uses the html.story by default.  Has anyone else experienced this?  Is there a work-around or a fix?  Does this break pre-existing courses? We have over 100 legacy courses that use Storyline 2 in our LMS. A majority of our employees use Internet Explorer (9, 10 or 11).  I'm not sure how we tell folks for this one course to use Chrome.

Thanks in advance,

Lynn

Hi Lynn,

That description does not sound familiar to me.

We do try to provide an updater when we can to prevent users from having to republish all of their content when we learn of browser updates. I'm not seeing anything similar in the release notes here either.

Would you be able to share your .story file for us to take a look?
