iPad ends in Library but LMS not Complete

Nov 21, 2015

We are testing the use of iPads and Articulate Storyline 2 courses on our LMS. The courses run fine and people can complete them. When I try it on my iPad, I end up in Library which I guess is normal.

I have some questions:

How can our IT department setup the iPads so they do not store anything in Library? I have the courses without the check mark to down load to the device.

How does a user get from the Library back to the LMS without closing out the Library? Does this have anything to do with the course not showing complete in the LMS? Do I need to get with our LMS vendor to solve this?

I have been reading the discussions on iPad and Articulate but I don't think I have read this particular set of questions.

Hi Jeffrey!

To track learners who view your course on mobile devices, do any of the following, depending on your LMS:

Articulate Online

LMS

  • For the best experience, mark the box to Use Articulate Mobile Player for iOS or Android.
  • If learners will be using mobile devices other than iPad, mark the box to Include HTML5 output.
  • If your LMS supports Tin Can API, mark the box to Use Articulate Mobile Player for iOS or Android for the best experience.
  • If your LMS doesn't support Tin Can API, mark the box to Include HTML5 output.
  • If learners will be using mobile devices other than iPad, mark the box to Include HTML5 output.

The Library is part of the Articulate Mobile Player and the courses will be stored there. If you wish to avoid this, then you would not want to publish to the Articulate Mobile Player and simply view the HTML5 output. In addition, if your LMS does not support Tin Can API, then you would not want to utilize the Articulate Mobile Player either.

Leslie,

Thanks for your reply and I have changed our settings to not use the Articulate Mobile player since our LMS does not support Tin Can. We are piloting two new LMSs so I will need to ask them if they support Tin Can and test it.

My result is our staff is able to take the training on the iPad and it shows correctly in the LMS. I am also discovering what Storyline features HTML5 does not support such as drag and drop. I also think some of our issues are LMS related so we will see.

Thanks again for helpful advice.
