I have a learner who has taken multiple courses on his iPad. While most of the courses exit and mark as complete just fine, a handful of courses will stay as "In Progress" when he exits the course. If he tries to open them again, he is taken to the exit slide. But even when he tries to open and exit the course on his desktop, the courses still do not mark as complete.
Is this a bug, is there an available work-around, and is there a way to fix this issue?
Sorry to hear about the odd behavior - you mention it being one particular user, has anyone else reported the behavior to you? Do you know is the user is accessing the course through the mobile player or the HTML5 content in Mobile safari? If so, what version of iOS are they using?
Have you set up a particular exit behavior such as an exit button that they need to use or do they need to close the browser? You mentioned it is also occurring on the desktop, so I suspect it's not just the iPad either - you may want to begin by reviewing the troubleshooting steps here for testing things within your LMS.
So far we have not had any calls with other learners having the same issue, at least as far as I know. He is accessing the courses through Safari. As far as exiting goes, they should be able to exit either through an exit course button or just by closing the window.
We haven't had any issues with courses that are started on the desktop. It's only when a course is started on the iPad, and then when it isn't marked complete the user has attempted to go back in through a desktop but still can't get the course marked as done.
Many other learners have taken the courses in question and had no issue completing them. Whether or not the courses were completed on a desktop or tablet it unfortunately not known for the most part.
What update of Storyline did you publish this course with? There were a number of fixes in update 6 that dealt with completion in HTML5 on the iPad, and you can see those listed here in the release notes.
If you had published it with update 6, can you share a copy of the .story file here with us so that we can do some additional testing?
