ipad view

Apr 26, 2016

Hi

I have published a series of projects and all appear ok on windows/IOS..until view on a iPad Pro. The project was uploaded as a scorm package and when loaded on to an ipad I get a really small screen with a "launch" button in blue on left hand side of the screen which does not do anything. Then below the project is the Download on the app store Apple logo. But nothing happens. I did demo the work on some iMacs last week with no issue so assume it is mobile issue. I am new to storyline so maybe usual user error

Hi Marc,

Thanks for reaching out to us here! Are the iPads you're testing on running iOS 9? If so, Apple made some changes to the way apps launch in iOS 9, so your Articulate Storyline 2 courses may not launch in the Articulate Mobile Player as you'd expect. We added support for iOS 9 in Update 7 for Storyline 2. See this article for details on how to update your Storyline software and your published courses.

The Articulate Mobile Player is only available for iPad and Android tablets, so that would be why you weren't running into this issue on iMacs. If the option is checked for Articulate Mobile Player when publishing, it will automatically take you to the app (or prompt to download if not already installed) when the course is accessed on an iPad. After updating your software and published courses per the above article, they should launch in the mobile player. :)

Hello again Marc,

I also wanted to mention that tracking for the AMP is only supported with Tin Can API.

If you publish for SCORM or AICC and you don't need to track users' progress or results, you may still be able to view content in the Articulate Mobile Player. Some learning management systems will allow it, while others will not. You'll need to test your content in your LMS environment to determine if your LMS will allow viewing SCORM or AICC content in the iPad app.

Hi Tom, I would be happy to help you get your Storyline 3 files on your iPad.

First, you will need to host the content on a web server. If you don't already have a web server available to you, Amazon S3 is a great, free option. Here's a video tutorial to help you get up and running! Google Cloud is another option, and here's a short video tutorial on that one. Make sure to upload all the files in the published output to the server for viewing.

Once you've hosted the content on your web server of choice, you can use the URL to open it on any device, including an iPad.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
