Is LAUNCH_STORY.EXE a browser?

Jan 12, 2018

We are publishing content from StoryLine3 to CD - which we will be distributing on USB sticks.

Can you explain whether the LAUNCH_STORY.EXE is in itself a browser for the content on the CD/USB or does it simply start a local copy of Internet Explorer?

If it is the latter will it always open Internet Explorer rather than the users default browser?

Thank you

Hi Petrana,

The Launch_Story.exe file isn't it's own browser, and it'll rely on versions of IE10 or newer to launch the content. I know some folks direct users to the story.html file so that they can launch it in the browser of their choice, but our recommendation is to use the .EXE file in conjunction with the latest version of IE installed on your computer.
