We share content with some other Health Boards in our eLearning and education community. If one of us purchases SL3, does anyone know if it is backwards compatible, i.e. Save as SL2, so we can continue to collaborate together, or do you think we will all need to upgrade (eventually)?
Storyline 2 projects can be upgraded to Storyline 3, but Storyline 3 projects can’t be opened or edited with Storyline 2.
This article describes changes and improvements you’ll see after upgrading an existing course to Storyline 3. If you do take a look at the trial of Storyline 3, we will create a back up copy of your .story file so that you can still use a copy in Storyline 2.

There is no way to open SL3 files in SL2.
You can, however, open SL2 files in SL3.
So yes, you'll all need to upgrade if you want to work on SL3 projects together.
Figured that was the case, but thank you for clarifying, much appreciated.
