I've been trying to publish a project but it keeps erroring. There are 7 modules and a test. I can publish the content and test separately which indicates to me the screens are not corrupt. I even deleted one module and it publishes ok.
When trying to publish the whole thing it seems to get to around question 15-19 of 23, so initially I thought it was a problem with the questions.
The course is 15.5MB and I have published one of over 24MB previously.
check the filename - length not longer than 256 characters, no wildcards. Are you publishing to a local drive - that's recommended. If publishing to a network drive (not recommended) sometimes it can be folder permissions or timeout that affect the publish.
If you want to upload the .story file I'll try and publish for you and see if it errors.
The file length is the same whether I publish all or part of it so I doubt it's to do with that. I'm freelance so no network, all published on my own C drive.
Due to confidentiality reasons I wouldn't feel comfortable uploading to this site however could send it to you via Hightail (a free way to send large files). You don't need an account to download it.
Had to pop our so probably missed you now. I'll keep trying to resolve it through the day.
I have files that exceed 100MB so I doubt its a size limitation. Sometimes the environment just gets corrupt. On occasion, I have created a new file, opened a 2nd window of SL2 , and cut and paste the slides (content) into the new blank course. Once saved with a new name, everything worked! Give it a try!
Thanks all for your comments and advice - have had email closed while trying to resolve the issue. As I sometimes get the message low memory I've been exploring if that might be an issue. Spent ages trying to take off Cortana from my Windows 10 but hasn't helped.
I managed to publish in two parts yesterday - content and test - so have sent to the SME for review and feedback and bought myself some time.
Thanks for offers to try to publish for me - if it was final file I'd possible try that however it will need publishing a few times over next couple weeks so I need to find out what's causing it.
I tried creating a new course and importing scenes but that had same problem. I'll try your suggestion rick and have two SL2s open and copy paste and see if that helps.
Is there a private message facility on here? I thought I' used one before but cannot find it now.
