Is there a path or url to link to resources, menu, glossary
Sep 25, 2015
Hi, are there paths, hyperlinks or urls associated with the menu, resources, and glossary? I want to utilize the menu, glossary, and resources that you can create in Storyline 2, but I don't want to use the links on the player (I want to create my own links to those items). Is it possible?
Specifically, what I want to do is to have a player tab for the menu (like resources) that when clicked will open or close the menu (I don't want the menu on all pages, and I don't want to have to shut it off for others pages). I hate to say this, but "like you can do with captivate."
Please let me know. Thanks.

Hi Kathleen,
The reference material you're looking for is here:

at the bottom of the page. This is a pretty good reference for a lot of the more common features of the software.

This works. Thanks.
Hi Kathleen!
You can customize your player as you can see here so that the menu is not in the sidebar.
Sounds like you are looking for something a little more customized. Here is a suggestion as well with using a lightbox.
There are lots of threads on custom menus and hopefully someone in the community will be able to chime in and assist you as well.
Please note that replying to the forums via e-mail attaches your signature, but you are welcome to pop in and edit that if needed.
You're right, I'm looking for something more customized. I know how to do the light box and the custom tabs, etc. I know how to turn the menu on and off for certain slides.
hmm... looks like I buzzed in without hearing the whole question.
By shutting off the links to the resources, the glossary and the menu you're basically turning them off - there is not a way (that I know of) to remove the link without also removing the module its associated with.
You could, however, re-create these things yourself using the slide master's layers, lightboxes, and branching. Probably not the answer you were hoping for, though.
Actually, Leslie sent me exactly what I needed. Thank you Leslie. We just moved the menu link to the topbar, like resources :)
Thank you for researching this a little more. I appreciate your help!
Just an FYI Kathleen - responding via email includes your signature here in the forums. You're welcome to edit the post to remove that information if you wish.
