Is there a way to reset incorrect drag and drop items? Or remove an incorrect item completely?

Jul 14, 2016

As per the title. I'm building a drag and drop, and I'd like for an object that is dragged onto an incorrect location to return back to it's initial position without resetting the slide. Or as a work around, to destroy that object entirely and reveal a new one in its place.

Currently I set up the slide so that when the object is dropped onto an incorrect target area it changes states to hidden/disabled, but I also noticed that this doesn't actually do anything to the object (looks like it just sets its transparency to 100). Which means that the interaction still records as false because there's an invisible object sitting on one of the drag and drop areas.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Michael!

You can set this in the Drag and Drop Options:

  • Return items to start point if dropped outside: Mark this box if you want to force drag items to snap back to their original locations when learners drop them outside a specific target. Use the corresponding drop-down to select either “any drop target” or “a correct drop target.”
