Is there a way to set the starting number for an enumerated list?

Aug 09, 2012

Greetings,

I am creating a tutorial with enumerated instructions, and associated pictures/movies/etc. for each step.  I need to put the instructions on two different slides -- the first slide with steps 1 through 4, and the second slide with steps 5 through 7.    However - if I create a text box and turn on enumeration, it always starts with step 1.

In Power Point, I can set the starting number for an enumerated list (so I can start the second slide with step 5).  That doesn't appear to be available in Storyline.  The only workaround I can think of is to have one text box with the instructions, and another that contains just the number of the step.  But then I have to worry about alignment ..and if I add a step in the middle later on, I have to manually fix all the numbering after that, which I'd like to avoid.

Any suggestions?

You also could do this a temporary workaround.

On your second slide, create your text box and have your first four bullets off the slide canvas.  Give each bullet some placeholder text.

Then to create line spacing with a line feed, at the end of the fourth bullet, do CTRL-ENTER and add a space.  This creates a line feed for the fourth bullet.

Repeat this for as often as you need.  Be sure to always add a space after each CTRL-ENTER.

When you get to where you want bullet 5 to start, just do enter at the end of the last extra line you added for your fourth bullet.
