Is there an easy way to trigger a gif animation when the user/viewer first clicks on it?

I don't know why I'm having such difficulty with this. Surely, it shouldn't be too complicated in such software, right? I'm merely trying to include several gifs in one slide, and I want them to start playing only when the user/viewer clicks on them or their corresponding text boxes. Is there a simple way to do this that I'm missing?

I'm not sure, but I think gifs start animating when they appear. If that's the case create a still of the beginning shape (like in the screenshot), place it right on top of the gif. Create two triggers for it, one to hide the shape, and one to change the gif from its initial state of Hidden to Normal state.
