This is an issue I've noticed for a while. If I have a freeform drag and drop activity and the following slide is a sequence drag and drop style activity there is an issue. After clicking submit in the first activity, three dots appear on screen to show it is loading the next slide but it goes nowhere. I have found a work around where I insert a blank slide between the activities which is set to just jump to the next slide. However this work around doesn't work if the questions are assigned to a results slide and the user is reviewing answers as the extra blank slide is skipped. I have managed to solve this issue by reordering questions and changing question types where appropriate but it would be nice if I didn't need to do this.
This is using Storyline 360. Not sure if this already a known issue.
What Storyline 360 update are you using? Click on the Help tab, then About Storyline.
Does the freezing happen during Storyline's preview, in the published output, or both?
Would you mind sharing your .story file so I can try to replicate the experience? You can send it to me privately by using this upload link. I'll delete it when we solve this puzzle!
The freezing happens in the published version and in preview mode.
I don't have the original file where the problems were happening as I've since changed the file (in the ways mentioned above) but I will try making a file that will recreate the issue.
I tried making a new file and recreating the issue I was having the same way as you did and I am also unable to replicate the problem, which is strange as I've seen the problem happen a number of times. I've went back into one of the original files where I knew the problem was and I've stripped it of everything else and I was able to easily recreate the issue. I will send you this file to have a look at. I have maintained the basic structure of our courses layouts as far as jumping between scenes is concerned too.
The issue is slightly different than how I remembered it though. When answering the questions, the sequence drag and drop question loads jumbled up and you are unable to properly complete it and the freezing happens when reviewing your answers after clicking next from the drag and drop activity.
As I said, the issue while answering the questions can be resolved by adding a blank slide between the questions and adding a trigger to skip automatically to the next slide but this doesn't solve the freezing while reviewing answers.

Hello, John. I'm happy to look into this!
First, I'm having trouble recreating the three dots in a sample Storyline 360 Update 39 file:
A few questions for you:
Hi Katie,
Thanks for getting back to me.
