Issue when converting from video to view mode
May 17, 2016
I am writing software training and having a problem when I go from video to view mode. Storyline creates a relatively good version of the user steps, but when I change to view mode and it breaks out into many individual slides, it cuts out a lot of the action. I have discovered that the hidden action is still at the beginning and end of each slide and I can "add it in" if I go into each individual slide and edit them, but that is very time consuming. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, did you have any easier/quicker method for recovering this? I have several software programs for which to write training and am not looking forward to making these micro-managed projects.

Hi Deborah,
When you use the "step by step" set up, it'll include each "click" or user action as a new slide element. There isn't a way to change this default behavior, although you're welcome to edit the slides as you have found and you may also want to take a look at the options to edit as detailed here.
Thanks Ashley. I've been doing this. It's just really tedious to do for so many slides. I guess if that's my only option, that's what I'll continue doing:)
Sorry there isn't an easier option but glad you'll be able to continue using that going forward!
