Issue with animated text not wiping in correctly

Jun 21, 2017

Hi all, I have a project which was started in Storyline 2 and have since brought into Storyline 3, and now there is an issue with the way the text animates in (see attached video) - the animation is set to come in at .75sec as wipe from left & by paragraph. This glitch seems to be randomly affecting text box animations, some work fine, others will start at the second or third letter & the next line will sometimes come in with the bottom half cut off - if I insert a new text box and set the same settings I still have issues so assuming this isn't an issue between versions

Hi Oscar,

Could you share a copy of the project from Storyline 2? I'd like to take a look at how that was set up and what happens when I upgrade it too.

You can upload it using the “ADD ATTACHMENT” button at the bottom of the reply window.

If you’d prefer to not share in the public forums you’re always welcome to share with our Support Engineers here. They’re available 24/7 to assist!

Hi Oscar,

I see that Angelo was in touch for your Support case, and I wanted to share his response below (I removed the links he shared as you mentioned the data being sensitive):

I understand that you are having issues with the Wipe Animation in your TextBox.

I was able to replicate the issue with the file you uploaded. Upon checking, it would seem that the font or size is what's causing the issue where the letters are acting up or getting cut off with the Wipe Animation applied.

Here's a short Peek recording of what I was able to find:  (link removed)

I also tried recreating the animation on a new project file using Open Sans as the font style and did not encounter the issue even with the font size of 20. You may download the sample file below:  (link removed)

Try changing the font style or decreasing the size of the font and preview/publish your file to see if it behaves differently.

Please let Angelo or I know if you need any other help!
