Issue with Jeopardy game in SL3
Feb 28, 2019
Hello,
I adapted an existing Jeopardy template found on a discussion here, and I have 2 massive issues that I would like to share with you, assuming that I work with SL3...
- Here is an overview of my main quiz page. By clicking on each button, I reach corresponding question, and going back to this main page.
Each button has multiple states and by trigger, I defined that when I come back to main page, the question already seen is not active anymore (= the button becames hidden).
Inside Main page properties, when revisitng, I have 'Resume saved state'.
It works perfectly except for the first question. I don't know why but for the first question button remains visible, I can go back to the same question with appears already answered. By 2nd question, it works perfectly and button become hidden). Do you knwo why I have this issue only for first question?
- I have now a doubt concerning the evaluation of the game. To track progress and completion of our contents, I used quiz result slide and follow ScorePercent inside my LMS. In such game, what are your ideas in term of tracking? I'm quite lost concerning how to proceed...
Thanks for your input and ideas!
Regards
Olivier

Hi there, Jacob. For your first concern, it may be helpful to see how your triggers are set up. Are you able to share your file? You can share it publicly here, or send it to me privately by uploading it here. I'll delete it when I'm done troubleshooting.
Your second concern sounds like you are looking for feedback about the best way to score a Jeopardy-style game. Will you require a minimum passing score? Do you just want folks to complete the course? The results slide will set minimum requirements, and the publishing window allows you to choose how to track and report results to your LMS. Let us know what works best for you!
Hi Crystal,
Thanks for your fast answer.
For the first concern, I sent the file to you privately.
For the second one, usually we work with a minimum passing score, but in the specific case of a Jeopardy game, how to manage?
I have 30 questions, a maximum score of 600 points. If I say that people need to have 400 points to pass the content, how will be calculated the passing score? Or if I say that they can make 10 questions out of 30 (so, maximum score would be 300 if they select 10 30-points- question), someone can select 10 10-points question, he can answer properly. For me, he will reach 100 points (out of 300 points), even if he get 100% of correct answer...that's quite a mess in my mind, I hope it remains clear for you...

Thanks, Olivier! (Sorry I mixed up your name in my last post)
I'll have a look at your file and let you know what I think.
Hi Crystal,
Do you have any advice concerning best way to score the Jeopardy-style game…
I have no clear idea in mind, I hope some other Heroes can help :)
Olivier
Hi Olivier,
It looks like you have an open support case with our team and Chino is helping you out.
Great idea to solicit some assistance from the community on your design though :)
Hi Leslie,
Indeed, there is a support from Chino concenring my first concern, which is a technical issue
By that post, I was more thinking about the second concern...
To follow up on your first concern with the game board tiles not disappearing: I see that Chino found a duplicate game board that was causing confusion with the tiles. He made some recommendations. Feel free to let him know how it's going!
HI Crystal, you're right, Chino support was really useful, I just thanks him …
Concerning second concern related to scoring Jeopardy style, do you ahve any recommendations for me?
Olivier
Thanks for the feedback, Olivier! I'll be sure Chino sees this. 😁
Regarding the scoring, I'm sure our talented Heroes will have a suggestion! I'll leave it in their capable hands.
