Issue with shortcut keys involving the CTRL key

Apr 16, 2014

I've created a few systems training courses that require users to enter specific key combinations in both Practice and Test modes in order to progress in the course. For example, at one point in a course, users must press "CTRL + C" to move on. Some users have responded that the courses are not recognizing their keystrokes when the CTRL key is pressed. Others are able to take the same courses without any problems. Any thoughts on a solution? Is this a browser issue (we use Internet Explorer and Chrome) or is there a setting in Storyline I can change?

Hi Steve and welcome to Heroes!

It may be that those keystrokes you've set up are actually triggering something within the web browser which is the parent application and will receive the keystrokes as described here.  Since it seems to work in some browsers and not others, I'd recommend doing some additional testing and that way you could let your users know which browsers to use.
