Anyone have any issues with Storyline 2 quizzes launched through SumTotal LMS allowing the learner unlimited retakes even though a retake restriction has been set in the LMS?
How are they accessing the retakes? From the results slide "retry" button or relaunching the course? The latter would be something that you'd want to reach out to your LMS about. The "retry" button in Storyline won't be connected to the LMS setting - so they may still be able to click on it and go through things again if they haven't left the course - but are those results going back to your LMS?
Thanks for your posting. They are retaking the quiz from within the LMS. We set the LMS to only allow three attempts. Somehow there is a lack of communication between Storyline and SumTotal as to how many attempts have been made.

So they're relaunching the course from a button or link inside the LMS? Again, that won't communicate back to the Storyline file to not allow them to proceed past that point. If the user hasn't closed the course window and is able to use a retry button or the menu to navigate back to the beginning - it'll be up to the LMS to determine that they've passed the number of attempts and no longer track their progress.
Also just an FYI that responding via email includes your signature here, so you are welcome to edit the post to remove that information.
Hi Ashley,
The users are exiting out of the quiz after viewing the results screen. This should communicate an attempt to the LMS. Reporting shows that the attempts are being recorded in LMS. The users then restart the quiz, get a new score, exit out, and then retake as many times as they want. Somehow the LMS is ignoring the 3 attempts limit that has been set. This is most likely anise with SumTotal. I'm wondering if you or anyone else in the forums is experiencing something like this or any other issues with SumTotal.
Thanks for clarifying and sorry for my confusion. I haven't used SumTotal - but hope that someone here in the community is able to weigh in with additional information and you may want to reach out to SumTotal and see if they have any additional information to share.
