Issue with the navigation in the built-in Menu
Apr 29, 2020
Hello Heroes and Articulate Team,
I have an issue with the menu which I did not have previously.
I did some changes to an existing course created in 2019. In the original version titles of scenes in the Menu worked as interactive links. Once I clicked on the title it moved me to the n.1 slide. Once I clicked on the arrow the title wrapped up or opened a list of slides in the scene.
Now, when I updated and published the course, clicking both: title and arrow wrap up or expand the list of slides and title does not open the first slide of the scene anymore.
I do not remember I did any related changes to the player. And, I can't find the appropriate settings.
Could anyone please help to solve this?
Many thanks!

Hi Ren,
Thank you for the update. Looking forward to it being fixed soon.
Also looking for a fix on this. Thanks!
I'm sorry you hit this problem, Karen!

Great, thank you Katie!
If it helps to know the impact of this bug, in our case it could affect completion status for a course that bases completion on the number of slides viewed. So we would love to see a fix for this.
If a learner navigates to scenes in a course from the menu, they will miss the first slide and come up short in the number of slides viewed, which will result in calls to the Help desk and an audit. We would like to avoid this outcome.
Thanks for your help and understanding!
Hi Karen,
Thanks for the additional insight! I'll be sure to share this with the team internally as we prioritize this bug.
As Katie mentioned, we'll be sure to jump in here when we have any updates!
Hi, we're having the same issue with Storyline 3. Normally when we click on the scene title, it would automatically navigate to the first slide after the scene (1.1, 2.1, etc) and this is usually our 'Topic' or 'divider' screen so in the menu we would delete slide#1 and when we click the scene title it would automatically jump to slide#1 but now when we click the scene title, it takes us to slide#2 (skipping slide#1). We noticed this issue started appearing after the January 2020 Storyline 3 version update. So in the interim, we have to leave the menu navigation as is with the slide#1 titled "Introduction" display (print screen attached) which is not ideal (but we also don't want to start looking into workarounds because we also share our story files with countries and as such we try to minimize as much workarounds as possible). Please do keep me in the loop of any updates. Thank you!
Hi Maggie,
Thank you for reaching out and letting us know! I am sorry that you are running into a similar snag here in Storyline 3. You are in the right place, and we will be sure to provide an update as soon as we have more details to share!
Sounds good, thanks Vincent!
