I have been trying to preview a small trial project and I am having syncing issues in the preview. It is also playing slow. This happened only after today's update. I can play a timeline with no problems but the preview. Does anyone have same issue?
Are you having issues with the overall Storyline preview and not the timeline preview? Our team released a hotfix last night that resolves some saving errors a few folks saw, so I'd begin by downloading the latest update of Storyline 360.
Thanks for your quick response. I updated my copy but the problem is still there. Let me try to explain it in little more details.
I have a video on a time line with bunch of captions to sync with it. I inserted couple of cue points for the time line to pause and resume at certain points. I added triggers as well. When I publish, it will show me the perfect syncing. If I storyline preview the same slide(not the timeline preview), my timeline pauses couple of seconds ahead of the desired cue point and resumes with another trigger. This all started happening after I downloaded the update on 5/6/2019. That means there is something in yesterday's update which is causing this issue. I also notice the the triggers panel the the text is not wrapping properly. Please see the attachment.
I am also having the same issue. Downloaded this morning, so my version should include the hotfix. Previewing within Storyline (not timeline preview) has slow and stuttering animations, and my triggers panel text has overlapping and scrunched text.
It would be great if we could take a closer look at your .story project files and dig into this issue a bit.
With your permission, I'd like you to share your project file with our support engineers to investigate what's happening. You can share it privately by uploading it here. It will be deleted when troubleshooting is complete.
I'm having the same issue with the Preview being very slow/choppy and not staying in sync with the audio. I just updated Storyline this morning and reopened a project that I had absolutely no problems with earlier this morning before updating. I don't believe uploading a project file is going to be of much help as this issue did not appear in the same project file earlier today before updating Storyline. But I have uploaded my Project file as per Leslie's note above.
I too am assuming that if I updated this morning I should have received the latest update. The updated version is showing as v3.27.18822.0.
I'd like to add that this is not just with one project file. It's doing the same thing with several of my project files. I'm currently developing four small projects simultaneously and they are all experiencing the same issue.
I just started seeing the overlapping text in the Triggers field as well....
We are having the same issues in our office. Clients are reporting bugs in modules as we're sending them out and it's causing a LOT of frustration here. Commenting so we can get updates.
Is anyone else seeing "ghosting" issues with text when it's transitioning onto the screen? (See attached images). I'm using a Wipe animation to add the text, and as it does so, the bottom of the text is "ghosted", or not visible until the animation is complete. This is happening even after re-importing the project into a new Storyline file as suggested. The sluggish/choppy playback when previewing is still there after re-importing as well.
I am having a similar problem since the May 6 update, as are others at my organization. When I preview a slide using the Preview button, the slide timeline has been set the same as the time of the audio file, but what happens is that the audio will play out before the progress bar is even a third of the way along, with the onscreen images and text stuttering and freezing and resulting in a long silent period as the slide plays out. There is no way to tell if anything is actually synced. The playbar in the canvas area is better for seeing how things are synced, but is inconvenient for other reasons (cluttered workspace, can't see how it looks within a player window, etc.) It happens in every file, and it is happening to everyone in my organization who uses Storyline. We've simply stopped using Preview. It was previously a very useful feature, so any advice you can offer is much appreciated.
Additional information: this is happening when we update tutorials that were created in earlier versions of Storyline. If I open a new file and then import all the slides from the previous version, it doesn't happen but it means reconfiguring the player, menu, internal links, and a number of other messy operations.
Having the same issues, I had to install the version from April 11, 2019 (Build 3.26.18601.0) which seems to work fine. With the latest versions (May 7 & May 28) all my projects (including old ones) were running slow on the ''preview'' mode (when publishing behaviour was normal).
No update yet, but can you check what build of Storyline 360 you're using? You can check by going to the "Help" Tab -> "About Articulate Storyline" and the latest is Storyline 360, build 3.29.19305.0.
We just launched the newest version of Storyline 360 (3.31.19951.0), this morning which fixed the issue you were seeing when previewing a course! You can review more on our latest update here: Storyline 360 Version History
The next step is to update Storyline 360 by heading to your Articulate 360 desktop app and clicking "Update" next to Storyline 360.
As always, we are happy to answer any questions you have by posting in this discussion or you can contact our Support Engineers directly.
I'm excited to let you know that we just released Update 8 for Storyline 3! Here are all the details.
One of the fixes addresses an issue where previewing a course could be slow or choppy. Here’s how you can update Storyline 3. Once you're up and running, preview your file and let us know how it goes!
I’ve not been able to preview any of my courses since I downloaded the mandatory update a couple of weeks ago. Preview won’t load at all, let alone be slow or sluggish.
Hi, Sandra. So sorry you're running into this on the latest update!
For first steps, let's see if a fresh installation of Storyline 360 helps–here's how!
If the Preview option still isn't working after those steps, please let our Support team know. We'll do everything we can to ensure your features work correctly!

I see the same issue with the triggers panel sometimes, on version 3.26.18601.0.

Hello,
Did anyone find the solution to the issue?
Thanks,
Hello Naku,
I do not have any update at this time as our team is still looking into the issue.
Do you still see the behavior if you import the project into a new file?

Thanks for the details of what you are experiencing, Joe. This matches other reports we've seen and we are currently looking into this.
In the meantime, you can install a previous version if that would assist.

Our team is still taking a look at this, but you should now be subscribed to any updates we are able to share here.
I'm experiencing too a laggy preview. Any news about this?
