Issue with the " Storyline Player"

Jan 06, 2016

Please assist in identifying the issue with the "Player". It seems our template is missing from the preview pane. Please advise if this was possibly a human error or if there is a fix needed within Storyline 2.

Hi Ira,

A bug has been identified in Adobe Flash Player 20.0.0.267 that breaks several features in many applications, including Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, and Articulate Studio. For example, in Storyline and Studio:

  • You'll see a blank screen when you preview a project.
  • The preview area of the player properties window is blank.
  • The timeline preview feature doesn't work.
  • You can't preview videos, Flash movies, or web objects.
  • You can't edit videos.
  • You can't import Engage interactions into Storyline courses.

Adobe and Microsoft have fixed the issue for Windows 10, 7, and Vista. Microsoft will push the fix to Windows 8 computers on Tuesday, January 12, 2016.

Follow the steps below for your version of Windows to fix the problem or, if you're using Windows 8, to rollback to your previous version of Flash Player.

Good Morning,

This email is in reference to the previous bug fix for the "Storyline Player". Does anyone know if there is an update on the fix as of this date?

Kind regards,

Ira Lark

Hi Ira,

I'm not sure I'm clear on which element you're referring to - but the Windows 8 fix mentioned above is still scheduled to be rolled out today as far as I know, but typically the Windows patches don't get released till later in the day PST. Once we know additional information we'll be certain to share here.
