Thank you Matthew and Crystal for your reply, No its not about limitation.. and its not about publishing.. i have described it in the file attached.
The first issue is about the pie chart im designing, the "wheel" animation doesnt come up the way i want it, there must be a right way that i dont know.
The second issue is about the "wipe" animation on a "line", its a bit weird but the line is thinner during the animation and when animation completes it gets to the right width.
Thanks for sharing your file and what you are seeing Arash.
That's certainly helpful.
I was able to see the behavior you were reporting as well. The first issue with the pie chart, it looks like the Wheel animation has been adjusted for that actual image size, even though the actual image is the same size as your circle.
I adjusted this slide (see slide 2.1) to animate the rest of the 'pie' and it's working as you wish.
I'm going to look into why this is happening, but thought that may assist you in the meantime.
As for the line animation, I believe that is normal behavior. Is it causing difficulty in a course of yours?
I saw the changes you made, that was clever but not exactly what I had in mind. Ill be waiting to hear from you about the pie chart!
And about the Line animation, its not causing any difficulty in the course, it just doesn't look good when its thinner in animation and it changes width when animation completes!! There's no way to fix that?!?
I agree, neither is ideal. I've submitted both as a possible bug to our team.
I wanted to share some information on how we define bugs and how we tackle them when they occur.
This thread is attached to both, so I'll be sure to update you when I can.
In the meantime, the reverse pie animation is the only workaround I know for that issue and using a different animation for your line doesn't seem to display a different line weight.
Hi Leslie, i actually found a way to solve the problem, but its not through Storyline.
For the pie chart, I designed the shape in illustrator and coloured only the %10 and made the rest transparent. So now i apply the animation on the picture and it works.
For the line, again instead of using a "Shape" i designed the line in illustrator and imported into storyline, so now that i apply wipe animation on the picture it doesnt change the width.
Thanks for sharing and letting us know how you are working around this in the meantime Arash. That was very kind of you and it may help someone else that runs across this thread.
My pie piece is also exhibiting the same behavior. The animation seems to be positioned in the middle, and therefore the wheel animation starts halfway through.
I'm experiencing some weird reactions with the wheel animation on a Pie shape as well. It seems that the wheel animation is not using the centre of the Pie shape. Is there anyway you can adjust it? And how can I see the animation (preferrable when in a state) without previewing or exporting the story file.
Thank you for posting this animation. But this is not getting me anything further. I know what it should look like. But the problem is. I use it in a state. I don't seem to have an timeline where I can play the timeline of a state. If the wheel animation is placed on a regular slide with the wheel animation on it works properly. But when placing it on a state seems to move the point of rotation and therefore messes things up. I don't know why this is happening. Is there a possibility to change the rotation point of the wheel animation? Because this seems to be the issue. Please find the example in the MP4.
There is no timeline for states so the only way to see it would be to preview or publish. If it works fine outside of the state then it is likely a bug and i would open a support case.
Smart idea to open a support case--that's the best way to get help for these kinds of "buggy" issues. Do you have your case number handy? I'd like to follow along. Thanks!

Hey Matthew!
Did you have a look at the file attached?
Hi Arash!
Matt mentioned a known limitation in IE and Edge. We have also documented how animations work in mobile browsers as well.
What is the issue that you're experiencing? Is something unexpected happening when you preview or publish your course?
Thank you Matthew and Crystal for your reply,

No problem Arash - sorry if this is slowing you down.

My pie piece is also exhibiting the same behavior. The animation seems to be positioned in the middle, and therefore the wheel animation starts halfway through.
Is there a fix yet for this behavior?
I posted about this not long ago here.
Edit: Looks like the same behaviour happens in Powerpoint.
Hi Erika,
Sorry to hear that you've run into this issue as well. I can see from your linked thread that you are using Storyline 360 as well.
I've updated the report to reflect the user impact and linked to your other thread as well.
I do not have an update to provide at this time, but you should now be subscribed to any updates.
I experienced this bug as well. I hope we can fix this bug. As for now, changed my animation to fade instead of using wheel.
Unfortunately it does the same thing in Powerpoint, so I doubt there will be a fix or change.
I did create a workaround in Storyline 360 - I think it might be similar to Arash's.
Let's say your full circle is grey, and the quarter pie-piece you want to wipe is white.
I created a complete white circle, then I created the 3/4 'pie' shape in the same colour grey as the circle.
The grey 3/4 piece has no animation, and the full white circle has the wipe effect.
So, the full circle wipes, but you only see the quarter-circle since the grey three-quarter piece is covering it.
Hope this makes sense and is helpful for you!
Thanks so much for updating with your tip, Erika!

Hi Harold! This is what the "wheel" animation should look like when it's applied to a Pie shape. Is this different than what you're seeing?
Also, you should be able to preview an animation by clicking the Play button in the timeline.
Alyssa,

Phil, thanks for your suggestion.
I'll make a support case of it. Already thought it would be a bug. And how about changing the rotation point.
No animation options are limited at the moment
Ok thanks, Seems a point of improvement. ...
Hi there Harold,
Smart idea to open a support case--that's the best way to get help for these kinds of "buggy" issues. Do you have your case number handy? I'd like to follow along. Thanks!
Alyssa,
the case number is: 01438282
Hope to hear soon if there's a solution.
