I have inserted a text box on a slide but instead of inserting a new one i copied the same one (find it easier) however i noticed every time i do this the boxes are never aligned next to each other. Is there a reason why this happens?
i have copied them onto a new slide so you can see what i mean. (it's the 3 rectangle shapes on the right hand side)
If you copy and paste an object, the new object pastes in with an offset, I think so that it can be seen more easily on top of the original. Most programs operate this way. If you were having trouble aligning the tops of your objects, it might be because they were snapping to align with the top of the background object instead.

ah right ok!
Is there anyway to make the copied objects align against the object it was copied from instead of aligning with the top of the background?
ctrl+shift+d is copy in place works in SL360 only
Thanks for that Phil, I had not discovered that... :)
