Issues loading Storyline 3 HTML5 version in Taleo Learn
Nov 28, 2017
Looking for input from users that use Storyline 3 and Taleo Learn.
I recently downloaded a trial version of Storyline 3 so that I could better serve our employees that use screen readers. When I uploaded the HTML5 only version it took up to 2 minutes for courses to load using the SCORM 1.2 course player and also when publishing default HTML5, fallback Flash format in Chrome, Firefox and IE.
When I publish default Flash, fallback HTML5 it works fine in Firefox and IE but still takes a long time to load in Chrome (I’m assuming the Flash version is loading quickly for Firefox and IE but since Chrome only uses the HTML5 it take the same amount of time).
I encountered the same issue when I switched off the SCORM 1.2 course player and launched the course.
Storyline 2 publishes in Flash by default and backup HTML5 and I don’t experience any problems loading in any browser. This appears to be an issue with the combination of Storyline 3 HTML5 and Learn as when I open the same course on my desktop or Tempshare it loads quickly in multiple browsers.
Has anyone else encountered any similar issues with Storyline 3 in Taleo Learn? Did you find a work around?

I am having a similar issue. Publishing files with embedded video and layers takes a long time to load on Taleo learn. My buttons (with hover layers) are slow to load they look like they have disappeared for a second or so. Is there a work around. I'm using Storyline 360. Thanks.
I am using Storyline 3 and am not able to get Taleo to import the courses I have published either with html5 only or html5 with flash fallback. The problem is that there is no imsmanifest.xml in the published folder. Taleo is forced to look for that file and I cannot change the setting in the importer to point to the story_html5.html document. I can use what ever file path I want to use, but I cannot change the file type. See the screen shot.
Hi Jennifer,
What publishing option did you choose? If you're publishing for LMS, you should see a different output folder then if you only published for Web.
Let us know and that may help narrow down what's going on.
Hi Ashley,
I'm sorry, I read my original post and I need to correct and clarify myself. I have tried to publish with html5 only. But with the html5 only setting there is no imsmanifest.xml file that I can find in the output folders. If there is one somewhere in the output folders where is it? When I use the setting html5 with Flash fallback (see attached) for both LMS and WEB.
Hi Jennifer,
I used a sample course and published for HTML5 only, LMS SCORM 1.2, and I do see the imsmanifest.xml file in my published output as shown here:
Could you share a copy of your published output folder with us here? Also, what update of Storyline 3 are you using? The latest is Storyline 3, build 3.5.16548.0.
