Issues with importing Translation Document

Hello:
I have a course that needs to be translated into spanish...I exported the original course and then imported the translated document yesterday, I noticed that later in the course that text was not coming into the course, just empty boxes where text ought to be. I thought initially that the text was coming in white and I couldn't see it but that is not the case, the boxes are empty.
I've followed the troubleshooting steps, (uninstalled and reinstalled the software and am working off of my c drive). This morning I attempted to import it again in both 360 and SL2 and nothing happens, the system acts as if it is translating but I get a blank screen.
Please help, I have a quickly approaching deadline!

The format of the translation document is .doc.
The font in the word doc is articulate as is in the story file.
