Issues with importing XLF files

Aug 13, 2019

Hi!

While I import XLF files in my course (for translation), most of the slides seem fine, but a few slides come with additional HTML tags. I want to know if there is something I can do to avoid this.

Below is a sample of the HTML tags that get imported into the SL file:

<Document>
<Content>
<Style FlowDirection="LeftToRight" LeadingMargin="0" TrailingMargin="0" FirstLineMargin="0" Justification="Center" CustomTabStops="" LineSpacingRule="Single" LineSpacing="20" SpacingBefore="0" SpacingAfter="0">
<ListStyle ListType="None" ListTypeFormat="Parentheses" BulletFont="Arial" />
</Style>
<Block>
<Span Text="Parte 1: InformaciĆ³n confidencial y confianza del cliente">
<Style FontSize="27" FontIsBold="True" FontIsItalic="False" FontIsUnderline="False" FontIsStrikeout="False" />
</Span>
</Block>
</Content>
</Document>

NB: I use Storyline 3

Hi there, Princy!

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Because those extra tags appear on specific slides, this is an excellent opportunity for our Support team to help investigate!

Would you mind sending in your .story and translation file for testing by using this private upload link? Our Engineers will let you know what they find, and delete both files after troubleshooting.

Thanks for reaching back out, Princy!

We can appreciate confidentiality and are happy to sign an NDA if that works for you and your team. Just let us know!

In the meantime, I'll try my best to help you get to the bottom of this without seeing the files. What translation tool are you using? When going through these import steps, are the .story and .XLF files saved on a local hard drive?
