Was wondering if anyone has had any issues with latest Storyline upgrade. My previous interaction is not showing correctly after the update. Objects like arrows and lines are not showing in their entirety. Thanks in advance for direction.
I haven't heard of that particular issue, but we'd be happy to check your file if you're able to upload the .story file here. You can attach it using the "add attachment" button at the bottom of the reply.
Nothing was attached here, and if you're responding via email it won't include any of your attachments. You'll want to upload here using the "add attachment" button so that we're able to take a look.
If you'd prefer to work with our Support engineers privately you can reach out by uploading your files here, but there is not a phone support option for us to give you a call.
Thanks for uploading the file. I'm taking a look now - and so far I see the arrows associated with the red/blue lines that correspond to the flight path for your airplanes or helicopters.
I also saw your chevrons associated with the top and the blinking markers. There are a number of other grouped items on that slide - but it seems that I'm seeing them all on the slide and during preview. If you're missing a specific one could you share a bit more information or a screenshot of what you're seeing?
I have had a few problems after the update - particularly revolving around the player we are using. The color "tab" we had showing up behind the "menu" and "transcript" text is no longer visible, and the pop-up tab for the resources area works on Chrome, but not IE. Also, after the update I had to re-input the logo as well as the PDF files for the resources as they were not showing up or giving and error message when clicked.
Everything was outputting fine before the update :(
Yes, I saw the red and blue dotted lines - that's what I took to be the "flight path" and then I watched a number of the items follow that path (some only for a portion of it - but that seemed to match the set up). Do you have an image or screen recording of what you're not seeing?
I haven't heard of issues similar to yours based on the latest update, so I'm curious if you'd be able to share your .story file here with us or send it along to our Support Engineers. Also, you'll want to confirm you're working on all local project files as detailed here.
Thanks Richard - and I'll pop into that thread as well, but the embed code error message may be more connected to this documented article on the YouTube embed code and API set up.
I'm having the same issues as Laura. The preview of the player is not correct. Also, the Glossary tab shows correctly during slide preview, but not during project preview.
Everything was fine prior to the latest update (8).
Hi, Russ -- Thanks for sharing your file and so sorry to hear of your difficulties! I will do some testing on your file shortly and will reply here with my findings. Your patience is appreciated!
Hi, Russ -- Thanks for your patience while I took a look at your file! Would it be possible for you to share screenshots of the discrepancies you are experiencing? I do not seem to be encountering what you are experiencing based on my understanding of what you've described. Any additional details would be helpful or images would be helpful! :)
The player preview does not always seem to show the correct image. When I check Glossary or Resources box, a panel shows up when there shouldn't be one. (See attached).
A more serious challenge is getting the Glossary tab to show on selected slides. (I don't know whether this is a new issue or not).
I only want the Glossary Tab to show on slides selected from the Question Bank. I can't seem to get it to work even though I have checked the Glossary boxes on the settings for those slides. The only way I can get the Glossary Tab to work is to have it selected on at least one other slide outside the Question Bank.
Neither is a critical issue, but both have taken considerable time to work around to get the results we wanted from StoryLine 2.
Thanks for sharing that image here. I took a look at your file, and although I didn't see the white box that you showed at first, when selecting to add the Resources box it did appear. It also stayed regardless of where i moved the new items, but "saving" the player by selecting "OK" and then reopening it allowed it to display normally. I also tested this on a new .story file and it worked normally on that one - so I'm unsure if it's something specific to your player set up. I didn't see anything else that looked off, but you'll also want to confirm that you're working on local project files as detailed here.
Also, it looked like the glossary was set to only appear on particular slides as you described and that worked normally as well. I'm not sure which was the additional slide you had to place it on, but if you'd like to offer a bit more information about that I can take a further look.
Sorry for the delay. However, I wanted to test the Glossary issue on a new StoryLine project. The issue remains. Notice that the Glossary Tab does NOT appear on the quiz question slide (which comes from the question bank) even though Glossary was checked on the settings window. The Glossary tab shows when I preview the question slide only, but NOT when I preview the entire project.
However, if I check Glossary box setting on the Instructions slide, then the Glossary Tab shows both on the Instruction slide AND the quiz question slide.
I don't know whether this is a design flaw or a bug. However, there are projects where I would like to have the Glossary Tab show ONLY on the question slides (usually selected from question banks.
I was able to replicate this issue and saw that it does occur when you've added the glossary or notes tab to only appear on the Question bank slides. I've reported this to our QA team for further investigation but I did find that you could include the glossary on a new slide in a separate scene and it would allow it to appear on your question bank slides. So I'd advise using that workaround for now.
Glad I could figure it out and I did include this in the report filed with our QA team, so once there is additional information to share I'll include here in this forum thread. I cannot offer a timeframe in regards to that, so I'd advise to continue using the workaround.

You should be able to see a red and blue dotted line along the flight paths
of the plane and the helicopter. Are you able to see that?

Another user was getting an error when inserting a video embed code Youtube. I got it too. https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/video-8b35fe0e-bfca-406f-8be6-8fc2500dd5a0
