Issues with layers

Mystery layer issues, please help.
I have a slide that has seven layers. Each layer has an X in the top corner to hide the layer and the trigger isn't active the end of the audio per layer. All would be perfect, but if I click the anywhere on the slide layer before the audio is complete it hides the layer and leaves the audio playing.
I have checked everything I can think of there are no other triggers on the layer except for that one box. I have taken out all of the text and audio to protect proprietary info, but left all the timing. If anyone can help me with this I would appreciate it.

you have a selected state on your layer rectangles - if you remove that the issue of clicking slide goes away
